My research is about the creation of an art project that exists within the real and the digital. By using photography, drawing and collage, I am interested in producing a body of work that expands the boundaries of the image to an object of multiple levels of meaning. The theme of the panorama is key to illustrate the ways in which our environment influences our perception of the world and its recollection. I am also trying to pinpoint the failures of our memory to keep an accurate record of the past and the possible ways it distorts and reinvents those remembrances with the passage of time.
The large-scale panoramas represented in my work reflect my concern on the struggle that our senses endure as they try to grasp the fundamental nature of reality. The interpretations of specific places portray an experience exposed to different points of view and moments compressed into a single image.
In this website you can explore two distinct types of work. The first one which I called Digital panoramas contains a portfolio of images which I have been developing since 2005. The second group called mixed media, includes more recent work with a tendency towards drawing, painting and the handmade. I have also included a news section where you can find present and past projects and exhibitions.
